recommended reading order for Discworld

for lungbarrows et al

so Terry Pratchett's amazing Discworld Novels are based around different groups of characters - namely, the Wizards, the Witches, the City Watch, Death/Susan, Ankh-Morpork in general, Tiffany Aching, and a few miscellaneous others. while all of these storylines are great, my personal favorites are the Witches and the Watch, and I'm least partial to stories about the Wizards including Rincewind (he rather annoys me). 

the following list of novels is therefore in my preferred order. I'd definitely read the first few in this order, but if you discover a set of characters you really like, just drop down the list until you see them again - they're basically in chronological order, so that works as well. :)
