Lush Tip: Ask Questions! Part Two: Questions for the Venue
Firstly, DON'T ASSUME ANYTHING and no questions are silly. If you haven't done this before you will possibly not feel confident. Pretend you are (or ask someone else) and ask all the questions you want. Venues can include the church, the garden, the council or your friend's place. *Remember - The supplier's attitude and how they answer is a great indicator of how they will be later on, so it's better to know that now.
What is the earliest day (and time) we can we have the venue?
What is the latest day (and time) we have before we have to leave?
What facilities do you offer for the price? (Get details on available rooms, kitchen equipment, furniture, packages, chair covers, cloths, decorations, table centres, dance floors, staging, lecterns, PA, plants, lounge furniture etc.)
Is there anything not included that I should know about before I pay my deposit? (This is where you get to see how honest they are)
Where do suppliers load and park?
What types of decorations are possible here?
Can we have real candles? If not, can we have them if they are contained in a enclosed container or vase?
What have other clients done before?
(This is important - Ask for lots of examples and to see photos)
Ask for a breakdown of items and prices for the packages they provide. If you have any further questions keep asking until your satisfied you understand what's going on. Keep an eye out for Part 3: Questions for the Supplier.
