I do have a bit of an ick that the writers didn't build them up properly imo. James spent all of season two and even part of season three with suspicion targeted at Lena because she’s a Luthor. Even when Lena proves herself to be good time and time again James continues to doubt her and remain skeptical. I was sort of irked, but also understanding of his point of view because it can be difficult to disentangle a family's horrific genocidal and bigoted legacy from the one potentially decent egg, one who very often struggles with her own darkness. I guess that’s what fanfiction is for hehe.

I also feel like this is the writers’ ways of giving James more screen time like the fandom demanded because he was shirked off in season two (I wasn’t too fond of him in that season, but in this one I love him almost as much as I did in the first season). I hope the writers also flesh out his friendship with Winn bc they’re not doing it so far. I would’ve loved to see him and Winn strengthen their bond. I wanted James to confess to Winn his insecurities about being thrust into a humongous leadership position so suddenly and maintaining a heroic alter-ego. Hell, now that Mon-El is back all new and improved I really wanted him, James, and Winn to be a trio. And with Guardiancorp the writers could’ve done a lot better forming a platonic relationship between Lena and James and developing from there. They could have fleshed out their disdain and lightened it with each encounter. Lena shows James the ropes with being a CEO and James teaches Lena about the media and fashion empire, and they strengthen their bond. Idk, but it was LAZY as hell and they have such cute potential to me! :)

ALSO IF I SEE ANYONE HATING ON MEHCAD LIKE THEY DID RAHUL I‘LL THROW SOME FUCKIN HANDS.
