not really a river at all ! but a handshake between two great lakes, huron stretching to embrace erie in its green-gray grasp. you stitch the liquid boundary of a city dismantling itself, bricks unmortared, spires sagging, burnt out structures razed to open field. prairies returning here, foxtails and chicory, queen anne’s lace sways; tumbleweeds amble down woodward avenue, blow past fire hydrants, storefronts and rusted cadillacs. we hope for better things.
independent hank anderson. 🍺
i wanna say @lutnnt is an amazing hank n deserves all of the appreciation and all of the love she receives around this community. mo’s writing is incredible, mo’s graphics/promos/everything are incredible, shes hilarious with what she talks about to her videos around tumblr and her hank is so in character from the sarcasm to the aura. you can tell how much she cares about the old cop with personal issues!!! (and clancy brown)

“Wipe your feet, please.” Connor held back a grin as they stepped over the mat on the threshold of the apartment. Really, he was just trying to sound naggy. Even if Hank did track dirt in, there was a certain contentment that came with cleaning it up. He’d already swept in here once.
Inside, Connor turned the light on and stepped aside, this time not holding back his excitement as he gazed around the space he’d just finished decorating earlier that morning.
Knee-level all around the living room and hall were black scuff marks that seemed to have been left over from the previous tenant. Connor had already mentally noted to paint over them. The larger problem –the hole in the living room had been covered up to the best of his ability by a poster.
The kitten on the poster clung precariously to a tree branch. Hang in there, it reminded him. He really hoped Hank wouldn’t peel back the corner and would just attribute it being there as one of the weird quirks Connor had developed since being alive.
“Nice, right?” His smile faltered slightly.
The living room was what he’d splurged all of his money on to decorate. The person at the thrift store had told him that the reason the sofa was so cheap was because it was ugly. Looked like old lady furniture, they’d said. Other than the gaudy floral pattern, Connor didn’t see what they had been taking about.
The television was plugged in and working but sat directly on the floor. He was nowhere close to rich yet, so that was just going to have to stay that way.
“Wait, the best part, the best part!” His grin was back as he remembered the final edition to the place. An impulse buy, but it was something he was so glad he’d got. “Close your eyes.”
Connor went to the table under the window and peered into the cage on it. The hamster lifted its head from the nesting of sawdust and blinked at him, whiskers twitching. Connor opened the cage and took him out, placing him instead inside the plastic ball for transportation.
He’d wanted a dog, of course, but something about the hamster’s tiny portability was too cute to ignore. Besides, he should probably get a bed before he got a dog. He was starting to realize sleeping was fun.
“Okay…” Connor held the plastic ball up. “Open your eyes. Ta-da~”
