I always thought Lux from League was supposed to be this Mary Sue type bland character in her story , but yesterday I read her comic series and girl isn’t a boring mary sue why did yall lie? I also expected her to be happy go lucky and childish like in League where she sounds like that, but in the comics she just seems like your average (rich) young hero woman who tries to stay positive who isn’t exaggeratedly, comic-like optimistic and happy. (Aka like Enid)

Lux struggles with using her magic and doesn’t just know how to use it from thin air.She spends an unknown amount of time with Sylas learning to control her powers and even then she isn’t completely in control or precise.
The seemingly “bad guy”(bad in brackets because he isn’t exactly entirely bad and has a point for some things ) likes Lux initially , but later we learn he basically used her to drain her magic. He might have genuinely cared about her but he still manipulated and used her. When she finally goes up against him , he attacks her and overpowers her.
Lux is constantly hiding her magic and it’s made clear she won’t be forgiven or accepted by anyone (besides Garen) if her magic is revealed
While trying to use her powers in Katarina side comic she accidentally breaks down a building/wall? So much for knowing how to use magic properly
She isn’t super attractive or hot, I mean she is beautiful, but not ultra amazing gonna forgive any bad action she does cuz she is hot hot
Her actions have negative backlash- Sylas uses her , she falls for it and people get hurt as a result, and she regrets it and panics, then she helps the mages and cannot return home as a result of her choices.
Dunno how the story continues but the comic ends with Lux being seperated from Garen, from her family and her clan. So her actions and the mess she made have a direct negative effect on her.
And she doesn’t seem all powerful or super strong. She’s made out to seem weaker than Sylas.
Overall not very Mary Sue-ishly of her
Also she had a hilarious line where she supeesses her magic and gets a crossbow and thinks “Gonna save the world with a crossbow yall”
She isn’t even that special because Garen (or his sword as an extension of him ) also has magic since Sylas drained Garen too(or that’s how I understood it)
So both siblings have magic, again makes her seem like less of a perfect unique character
Dunno I just expected so much worse from Lux as a character since people say she is a mary sue or too favored
