So last weekend Ashly Nicole offered to let me tag along on a crazy road trip to go up to the last two dates of Vans Warped Tour in Seattle and Portland. About an hour later I hopped in my car and drove to meet her in LA. I got the chance to photograph so many amazing bands that I’ve loved for years and discover new ones as well. This was one of those experiences that make reanalyze your life and leaves you feeling so refreshed. It kicked a lot of motivation back into me that I feel like I’ve been slowly losing.
I love photography but I’ve never been able to zero in one specific kind of photography. From now on I do want to focus much more on band/live concert and wedding photography. I’ll narrow down to two categories at least. (Of course I will still do family and other portraits if you ask me to or if we already have something scheduled. I just won’t necessarily be promoting it much anymore.)
It’s been quite a few years doing photography professionally and I feel like I’m still finding my niche but I’m getting there. Band and wedding photography both bring me so much joy in very different ways and I feel like I get the most fulfillment with them.
This post turned into more than was intended.
Anyways, here’s some photos of The Maine from the Portland Warped date. I think I was most excited to shoot them since I’ve been going to their shows for about a decade now and it’s amazing to see how much they’ve grown.
I’ll be posting lots of photos here from all the bands I got to see.
Obviously a big thank you goes out to Ashly Nicole Photography and you should all go check out her amazing photos as well. @ashlynicolephotography
