Despite being fully aware of what would happen when he gave in and acknowledged Inari’s (gentle) pestering, G’raha still found himself looking over at her, even as that caused her finger to press just a little firmer up against his cheek. In response he found himself puffing his cheeks out, holding his breath for a moment as his nose wrinkled. How could she-
“You want to get something to eat?” Well, it was Inari. Almost anything she did could be traced back to or inspired by her desire to have something tasty.
“I don’t mind taking a break. And you don’t have to pay for me, you know.” Though Tataru would undoubtedly frown and chastise him for his decision to not take the offer of something free, he couldn’t in good conscience let Inari buy his meal when he could easily afford it. And he probably did need to step away from the task of trying to catalog the tomes in the Annex. Krile had warned him it would be a daunting task, but he hadn’t imagined it would be this bad.
