not all dmab calicos are sterile! in fact, the non-sterile kind (while still very rare) are more common than the sterile ones! (non-sterile being a chimera of two kittens while developing, and sterile male calicos having an extra chromosome) just so you know!
OOOOH FASCINATING! I always thought that might be the case, but everywhere I look and every one i see always says theyโre all sterile. Thank you for this information! Thatโs super cool
When I was little, we took in a pregnant cat and she gave birth to tortie/calico kittens, among some other coat patterns. The only other stray cat on the street was a tortie, so I figure it was either a cat from a previous litter of hers, or a male tortie, who knows though!!!
