Long may their coordinating style and gently ruffled hair continue to break hearts.
'If 2023 was the year of the girl (apologies to anyone still suffering PTSD around rat girl’s moment), 2024 is shaping up to be a celebration of bromances, thanks to heartbreaker Jacob Elordi and his madcap Saltburn co-star Barry Keoghan, comeback kid Zac Efron and High School Musical superfan Harris Dickinson, and Gucci guy Paul Mescal and hot priest Andrew Scott. The latter double act turned the BFI screening of All of Us Strangers into a date night with baby pink suiting (Scott in Lvir), scoop-neck vests (Scott again) and red-carpet canoodling.
Mescal recently revealed that it was Scott who had taught him the tricks of the trade when it comes to posing for the paps. What to do with one’s hands on the step and repeat, the then breakout Normal People star used to angst? Scott’s answer: one hand in the pocket, the other hanging nonchalantly by the side, and a gentle lean back for the camera. Paul has been a disciple of Andrew’s school of posing ever since, but last night the co-stars used each other as a prop on a brisk London night.
Giggling like school kids and giving off the kind of body language that would once have been described as “touchy feely”, Mescal and Scott looked like genuine pals that might pop for a pint post premiere. Paul, after all, once stepped into the hot priest’s confessional. Since that Comic Relief skit broke the internet in 2020, a red-carpet marriage has blossomed. Long may their coordinating style (all high-waisted pants plus cropped cardis) and gently ruffled hair continue to break hearts this awards season.'
