layering 101?
yeah so fun fact about me is that I went a whole winter with 0 heat in a very poorly insulated old home during a winter where it frequently got below 0 degrees. I was fine though because I work with arctic foxes and I developed arctic fox based superpowers after getting bit by one learned to layer based on their morphology and thus was completely fine. Anyway, I basically just did this with both my clothes and my blankies. This is a polar bear, but it's the same as an arctic fox, don't worry about it.
Clothes Layer one: Thin, moisture wicking fabric to act as the "connective tissue." I had long socks, leggings, and a long shirt.
Layer two: Fluffy shit as the "blubber." I had a fuzzy wuzzy sweater and pants and socks. The fluff essentially traps the body heat inside. Down is actually best for this btw but I didn't want to sleep in my down coat.
Layer three: Theoretically you can wear some kind of fur or leather jacket but I kept getting too hot. I just wore my normal dark colored wool coat during the day, but not when sleeping. The dark color soaks in the sunlight when the windows are open to warm me up.
Blankies
Layer one: Thin, moisture wicking sheets as connective tissue
Layer two: Wool blankie my nonni knitted for me as a baby because I am autistic and must have it at all times
Layer two: down comforter as blubber
Layer three: Weighted knit blanket as skin
Layer four: Black fluffy blanket to trap more air and heat from the sunlight during the day. Cause I like...cant do the translucent fur thing and am not gonna skin Bobby Drake, you know?
