natasha: heads up, i'm missing your meeting this week.

“hey, hey i’m not faulting you for it. i mean it whenever i say that it was pretty bad ass.” the question is an easy one to respond to, though. “’course i would have. guys like that need to be taught a lesson in respect. you’d be surprised by how many bar fights i’ve gotten into just because some guy thinks he can take what he wants.”
@lvrexx / continued from here.
she looks away as he speaks, trademark sigh and eye-roll passing over her features in regular fashion. her gaze doesn’t lift in his direction as she turns her attention back to her phone, reading through messages she’s missed and only saying in response, “thank you, but i think i’ll live.”
@lvrexx.
“ hey.” she doesn’t know why it surprises her so much when she turns around and he’s a few feet away. he is the one hosting this, after all. it’s not like she’s avoiding him, but there’s certainly a different kind of rift between them lately. “everything looks great.”
take me on down/at the gallows it was mercy i had found

Erik had managed at last to slip away from the crowd out an unaccessed fire exit to the alleyway behind the museum. Finally alone, he retrieved a battered pack of cigarettes from his jacket interior, sticking one between his lips and lighting up. He blew a steady stream of smoke into the crisp February air, head tipping back against the bricks behind him. It was like this that T'Challa found him, leaned against the wall, looking broody and lost-in-thought, and he glanced up upon the other's approach. "Decent party," he huffed, jerking a thumb behind him, smoke dangling from his lips. He'd been blocking the door and he moved aside to let the guy in.
🔪 { up to you lmao }

as unfortunate as it is, natasha’s not entirely surprised that people are so angry that they’ve taken their means of vigilantism to the surrounding spaces of tony’s office—security, apparently, can never be tight enough. and, now, even worse: there are all kinds of angry, angry people back from the dead, some with plenty of unknown abilities. on the other hand, no matter what abilities they had, most of them were still usually amateurs at fighting, at least. she’s half-listening to tony speak about something when she notices the masked figure on the other side of the room and straightens up immediately. she’s not exactly armed herself, and she’s entirely unsure if tony is, either, but at least being constantly observant has mildly paid off. or—in theory, at least.
“hey,” she says, cutting tony off and moving at a quick but even pace towards the kitchen’s archway. it doesn’t take much for her to grab ahold of the other person, but she’s immediately taken back when they vanish from her grip and sight a moment later, only to reappear inches behind her. they swing at her in return, and it’s easy enough to dodge back and forth for awhile, but and a glimpse of muted silver catches her eye. she steps back and grabs ahold of a knife resting upon the counter and turns quickly with it in her hand, a few feet away from the unknown person before she throws it in their direction, only to have them vanish, and the knife to hit tony on the side of his shoulder. the person seems to be gone, but now, natasha’s more surprised by what actually happened. her lips form an ‘o’ before she says, “i’m sorry,” she’s still a little surprised. “do you want me to take it out?”
@lvrexx / starter call.
“ nope. not in the mood.”

crouched by sharon’s side, she sighs, hands working nimbly at pulling out the tiny shards of glass that have wedged in her shoulder. natasha sighs, and says, “i know.” she can tell that sharon is uncomfortable, and rightfully so, but it’s not letting her finish and bandage this up any easier. “just...hold still if you can. the more you can do that, the faster i’ll be done with this.”
