Legal Wives in Magnificent Century: Haseki Afife Nurbanu Valide Sultan
Born Cecilia Venier-Baffo in Paros, Republic of Venice; daughter of Niccolo Venier and Violanta Baffo. She was the legal wife of Sehzade Selim (later Sultan Selim II) and Haseki of the Ottoman Empire, and mother of Sehzade Murad (later Sultan Murad III), Esmahan Sultan, Sah Sultan and Gevherhan Sultan. Also was the first slave to be Valide Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.
Legal Wives in Magnificent Century: Haseki Hürrem Sultan
Born as Alexandra in Ruthenia and renamed Hurrem. She was the legal wife of Sultan Suleiman I “the magnificent” and the first Haseki Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. She had five children: Sehzade Mehmet, Mihrimah Sultan, Shezade Selim (later Sultan Selim II), Sehzade Bayezid and Sehzade Cihangir.

Daughter of Hizir Reis, she was the legal wife of Sehzade Mustafa and mother of his son Sehzade Mehmet.
