Born as a Crimean princess and daughter of the Khan of Crimea, Ayse Hafsa was the first Valide Sultan in the Ottoman History. She was the wife of Sultan Selim I and mother of Sehzade Suleiman (later Suleiman I “The Magnificent”), Hatice Sultan, Beyhan Sultan, Sah Sultan and Fatma Sultan.

Legal Wives in Magnificent Century: Haseki Hürrem Sultan

Born as Alexandra in Ruthenia and renamed Hurrem. She was the legal wife of Sultan Suleiman I “the magnificent” and the first Haseki Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. She had five children: Sehzade Mehmet, Mihrimah Sultan, Shezade Selim (later Sultan Selim II), Sehzade Bayezid and Sehzade Cihangir.
