She was quiet just listening to him, finally pushing herself off the wall and going to stand beside him, her hand idly and subconsciously going to hold onto his- whether out of worry or just the fact she’d pushed her anger and sadness over everything aside, she didn’t know. And right now, all she wanted to do was just.... be with him. Even if this was the last time they would be.
You can trust me on that.
Her eyes internally rolled hearing him say that- trust him like she had in the past? Like he told her when they first met? She wanted too, yes but... Not right now, Lara. Just...let it be. Let it be, and enjoy whatever time you have with him. You never know if it’s the last.
“...Yeah, I do.” But do you? “And I’ll take you to Ishval, just to see everything. Even my rundown home! If it’s still standing...” Lara sighed to herself and finally looked at him, deciding to change the subject since she didn’t want to start anything, “...You know I’ll follow you wherever, right?” Even into hell if you asked. She was quiet after that and her fingers slowly went to intertwine with his own as she looked out the window, Subject change number two. “....So- The promised day,” She rested her head on his shoulder and glanced at him, “...we gonna kick their asses?”
