think i'm gonna get wild and crazy this morning (drop ~12k of ly)

took me 3.6k, a week of writing, and a fic planning chat with my bff/editor but I think I finally found Phil’s voice again

today’s goal is to finish the draft of ly45. i’d say the end is in sight, except the end of it has been written for two weeks, and it’s more like i just need to write an introduction to the last scene lol. and then go back and sprinkle some more phil into the earliest scenes i wrote before he started talking to me again lol

#i crossed the 10k mark today and did a lil happy dance #once again i was worried it’d be a super short chapter #and once again i have proven to myself that ‘short chapters’ are a thing i am fundamentally incapabe of #ly45 #ly updates

7AM - 9:30AM: 500 slow going words in ly45, each one ripped out of me with herculean effort

9:30AM - 10:30AM: 1.5k words in ly46, written so fast and easily it’s like i’d already written them

if i keep working on the wrong chapter, pretty soon 46 is going to be as long as 45 🙊

I was pretty pleased with my 1.3k writing day (esp since I had to rearrange my fucking house for the stupidest reasons today), and then I got a random burst of inspiration at like 10:30 and night and bopped out another 600 words of an entirely new scene

#I so rarely write at night anymore it was lowkey shocking #brings the total up to 7.6 in 45 and 3.6 in 46 #they might become a part 1/part 2 of the same chapter though #we’ll see how the vibes shake out #still!!#11.2k no matter how you slice it #that’s exciting esp considering how stubborn Phil was being #iminclinedtowriting #ly updates #ly45 #ly46

in case anyone needed tangible proof that interacting with fanfic authors about fic is good for morale, i wrote 1.6k this morning after being in a slump since posting. thanks to everyone who sent in fun & thoughtful asks and helped get the writing vibes flowing again
