Why do I bother doing anything nice for my family? They don't appreciate anything I do anyway.

I know my mom has been tired lately so I said I'd make dinner tonight and earlier in the day I made cake. So I tell everyone dinner is done and I get some and let me tell you it was great. 10 minutes later my brother comes downstairs and gets some, runs back upstairs. A few minutes after that my mom gets some and starts complaining how much of a mess the kitchen is. I just kept eating. She takes one bite and says it's gross, that it doesn't taste like anything. Uh are you kidding me? It's cheesy and peppery and just fucking amazing. My dad just stared at it and went back to his room saying that this is bullshit. 

So at this point I'm trying not to cry because I know it's good. So I got up had seconds since I hadn't eaten anything all day. My brother comes down just as my mom is going on and on about not liking peppers. I asked him if he liked it and he just shrugged his shoulders. At this point I'll take that as a compliment. My sister never even came downstairs.

So after awhile I got up and put the leftovers in a container for lunch tomorrow. I made frosting to go with the cake and I asked my mom if she wanted any and she asked what kind of cake it was and it was a citrus poppy cake. And she just goes off on me. I never make anything good, it's always something she hates, all sorts of bull. So I ignore her and go give my brother cake, turns out he liked the cake. 

So I've basically cleaned the kitchen and the dishes and went to my room and cried for what seemed like forever. I just give up like I'm about to burn my notebook with all my recipes cause it's not worth being beaten down ever time I open it.
