EXCITEMENT!!!
I can't wait to see @lydiateasedale this weekend! Maybe this time we'll actually get a picture together instead of just drinking and screaming powerthirst lines all over the pub 😂

19 (and if you would, why?), 30 & 52 😊
19: Would you go back in time if you were given the chance?
I think about this idea a lot — or at the very least, the idea of “if I knew what I do now would I do things differently?”. It’s so tempting, but I think also terrifying because it means accepting an extra level of responsibility for my present/future state(s) of existence. Obviously to some extent the choices I made in the past brought me here, but at least I can claim ignorance to the full result of how they would reach through to today and tomorrow and so on. If I actively try to change something with specific intention, then all effects become entirely mine, and that’s just... eww. No thanks.
To just be an observer of important events, though, would be very interesting. Although the truths gained from that would also have potential to be their own burdens.
30: What’s irritating you right now?
Natalie’s watching a video across the room from me and it’s kinda loud and cutting through the music in my headphones... but oh well, I shall soldier on.
52: Do you believe everything happens for a reason?
Bro you believe things happen?????? Nah but really, I do not. To my mind things happen and cause other things and so on, but there is no grand reason for any of it. We are, and events occur, but that’s all.
Yes, I really am no fun at all.
Soldier
Climb above the parapet
It's time to fight!
For yourself, your heart
Your mind
For you
Hold high your gun
Stop aiming it at yourself
Aim it at your enemy
The true goal
Is your freedom
In mind
And in body
Soul, bound by empathy
Encouraging a change
Fight your nature
Take your life back!
Don't let this break you
Don't give it the satisfaction
Of breaking you down
When you're far too busy
Building yourself up
I will raise my gum
And fight for you too!
You have my arms
And my shield
And my razor sharp wit
My friend
You have got this!
You are stronger
Than your demons would have you believe
You can conquer them
And you can destroy your enemy
And I will back you up
From here
To the end
Writing prompt: ZOMBIE CRABS
Sideways they march!
Chittering chittering CHITTERING
How are they marching?
The crabs?
They're zombies! They're supposed to shamble!
Who organised them!
I bet
It was that necromancer
He didn't like that I wouldnt
Buy his old cloak
But it smelt of fish
And had holes in it
There was no way
He could have just left me a bad review
But noooo
Army of undead crabs
Waaaay better
I slow clap in your direction
And I walk diagonally
To confuse them
Weirdest game of chess
Zombie crabs
Versus me
I may need a shovel
Or at least some zombie tartare sauce
Or whatever goes with zombie crab meat
Oh well
Time to SMACK I guess
The chittering dead
Will advance no more
Or..
Ever..
Because of the sideways thing..

They broke the cloning machine
When they made you
Not long after they made me
Created from the vial
“Flawed Genius”
What should they do?
They weren’t meant to make two
Send one to Scotland!
Send the other to England!
That’s far enough, right?
They won’t find each other,
How could they?
We’ve left no trace
They have no idea
That the other exists at all!
But when there’s a connection
Born of being cloned
There’s no way on earth
No single way they could be kept
From discovering each other
I first saw you write
And it felt so much like my own
I wasn’t aware of why
I wasn’t sure of how
But somehow I felt I knew you
Not in an “I know you” way
More in an “I feel you” way
Something about you
About your genius
Reflected itself in mine
As I’ve grown to know you
And as we became friends
I’ve gradually come to realise
That perhaps we were the same
That we came from one mind
Then came the coincidences
The duality
Serendipity
What was happening?
Why are our lives the same?
So I concluded
As I’m sure did you
That we were created as one
Cloned at the start
Separated at creation
But I’m glad that we searched
Happy that we found
Each other’s lives apart
Sharing a burden or two
Despite the distance between us.
For my great friend @lydiateasedale
Super excited to get started writing with @lydiateasedale! Also can’t wait for next month when she comes to meet me and we break Tumblr with our awesomeness!
It's been a rough year in many respects, but I still have my best friend @lydiateasedale with me every day. Merry Christmas folks, much love. #lydiateasedale #artbytommym #Christmas #bestfriend #partner #relationship #love
When Forgiveness Isn’t Enough
Forgiveness, my Mama always said, was the key to happiness.
She told me to let things go, to smile, nod your head,
and say, ‘it’s okay. We all make mistakes.’
How many times then, does forgiveness work?
How many times until I fall to my knees
screaming that forgiveness isn’t enough?
Because I’ve forgiven him twenty two
times now, Mama, and it never gets any easier.
If you forgive a wasp for stinging you, it will sting you again.
I’ve hurt for years now, Mama, the hurting never stopped.
But now I’m through, there’s no way I can win
I’ve packed my bags, I’ll make my own way out the door
With the wasp residue still clinging to my skin.
