Backstory → If there was one thing that Noa has always been determined to do, it was to see just how often she could piss her father off enough for his face to turn that shade of red that reminded her of a ripe tomato. It never took much to trigger the temperamental man. Thiago Cortez had always had a short fuse, one that he had passed on to each of his six children, Noa included. While all of her brothers obeyed their father, learning from their mistakes by the harsh punishment their father would hand out if needed, Noa was a different story. Growing up as the only daughter to the man - a prominent member of a Mexican Cartel -, she was given a privilege that the boys never were. She was treated like a princess, spoiled by both her mother and father. The other daughters of the men within the same Cartel as her father acted like they were so lucky to be in the spot that they were, treated as they were. Noa never wanted that. She wanted to be treated as an equal to her brothers. Something her father had continuously refused her. It was when Noa blossomed into a woman that she finally discovered the one thing that she could use to her advantage that her brothers would never have. Many times she used her looks to her advantage. Boldly flirting with her fathers associates whenever they happened to be at the Cortez household. At 17, Noa had finally done the one thing that ended up pushing her fathers temper too far, after catching her in a precarious position with the man Thiago had forbidden her from seeing, he had had enough. Thiago sent Noa away, forcing the young girl to leave Mexico and live with family in Nevada.
That had been 2 months before her 18th birthday. She spent those first two months getting used to her new surroundings, living with her Tío Miguel who wasn’t really her uncle, but close enough according to Thiago. He trusted the man, therefore, he was Tío worthy. It was as she explored Carson City that she discovered the club Fantasy Girls, with it’s bright neon lights and pulsing music. She passed by the club nearly every day in the months before her 18th birthday. When she was finally of legal age, the first thing she did was audition to be a dancer in that club. By the age of 20, she had earned more than enough money to leave Nevada from the dancing that she had done. Managing it right under the nose of the man who had been trusted as her guardian. Without a word to Miguel, Noa packed up and left. She’s been in New York City ever since.
