After a #LygonSt browse it was time for an early dinner - but not at #Tiamo which already had a huge queue 🙀 so had very nice fish’n’chips at #SeaSalt instead (at Sea Salt - Fish & Chips • Sushi Bar) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjwYUV7ysdJ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
While in #LygonSt have #DOCEspresso coffee - and in this case apple crumble cake, which didn’t seem really Italian! Mind you, there are definitely fewer Italian waiters too, perhaps a post-COVID thing? (at DOC) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjwX7LVyywv/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

They didn’t survive 😢 A #Carlton establishment since 1975: #Trotters. I met friends there for monthly pre-work breakfasts when we were no longer at Uni together, just after it was taken over by its last owners in 1988. But by 2019 #LygonSt already had a retail vacancy rate of 13.5%, one of the highest for a Melbourne shopping strip. Walk home from work via #LygonSt. Amongst all the commercial devastation, the 1873 Commercial Bank of Australia building hasn’t looked this good for at least 35 years! (at University Cafe) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKFlpYGnBeS/?igshid=2i6hjavg2rbx
