Hey dear Sugarbaby! I see you are reading TYK ans as I am absolutely crazy about Word of Honor (everything about it), I wanted to know if you would recommand reading the novel? Thank youuu 😁 !

I'm actually on my second read of TYK, so as you can probably guess I'm very fond of it. I would definitely recommend it, with the caveat that both Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing have been softened for the drama. Neither of them are good people and they make that very clear in the novel, so if you're likely to be bothered by that then I'd avoid it.

Qi Ye is the prequel, and I very much enjoyed that too. I don't think it's necessary to read it before TYK, but it definitely adds to the experience. It focuses on Jing Beiyuan and Wu Xi, along with Helian Yi (Prince Jin in the drama) and Zhou Zishu and all the court politicking and underhanded tactics that get Helian Yi the throne. Again, Zhou Zishu has done some very unpleasant things in his past, and this is where most of them happen.
