It's a funny coincidence that I have an OC named Quinn whose special interest is aquariums and just marine things in general! Fish are just so cool, and I don't have what it takes to maintain an aquarium myself so I daydream about going to public ones and gave my love of them to him.

Ahahah the situation is very similar for me! I feel like we all have a hive mind in this community 😂 Whenever I’m able to move out I’m gonna get a Pomeranian and guinea pigs and a fish tank! 🥺

When it comes to you wondering if your art is good, it always makes me so happy to see. Your style is so soft and pretty. Sometimes when nothing feels good enough, when nothing is coming out right, it's best to give yourself a break. From personal experience, the more you push yourself the longer it'll feel awful when you try to do something creative. I hope you feel better soon, not because I want to see more art or fic from you but just because I know how it feels when nothing is working and it's an awful feeling.

aaaaaaaah thank you! that’s! such high honours? i’m taking my time, yes<3 i mean. i got 45 mins of sleep this morning after staying up writing it and i had to go to the doctor’s (which went SO SO SO SO WELL!!!!) and haven’t slept yet again buuuut i WILL I will i promise. i’m just so excited! it’s not bothering me i’m having so much fun and i really hope you like the end result<3

anon: i havent read tsp yet cause if i start it while it’s still in progress i will Never finish it bc brain silly BUT i am SO excited to read it and it’s nice and always a positive thing on my dash when i see u super excited about it, i hope this isn’t weird cause we don’t know each other but it always makes me smile to see people super excited when i’m having a rough day :) (also don’t feel pressure to answer this, it’s ok if u don’t want to)

bro do NOT even worry, it’s all good! i’m just so flattered you want to read it at all!!!! and jhfbdnm don’t worry i get it, i LOVE seeing people happy, too, it’s!!!!!!!! another part of why i write almost exclusively recoverycore, y’know? it just Feels better to have some kind of direction and result that makes the fight through all that pain feel worth it. 

and! it’s really cathartic in general after kind of, using my writing to keep myself locked in the gloom and doom mindset. i declared to my mom today at the doctor’s that i’m just! blank slate, fresh start, optimism is a good look. 

i know how hard it can be without seeing some example of how you can really maintain that without sort of sacrificing your principles and experiences, so if getting excited about my special interest/projects gives somebody some secondhand serotonin, that’s good enough for me!!!!!!!! 

so i hope your day’s gotten better since you sent this, and i wish you nothing but sunny ones coming up soon<3 and the same to anyone who sees this, much love!

anon: The asks on sea shanties made me think of worker struggle songs (idk the english term its arbeiterlieder in german) and protest songs in general!! Singing them is very much fun and singung them together after a (stressful) protest while waiting for a train? The best feeling (idk if any of this makes sense but just singing with other people

arbeiterlieder ooohoho.... no that makes complete sense, i’ve never heard this before and i just! am so constantly delighted by learning more and more about the different working songs and Music Meant To Be Sang Together for all the different purposes and aaaaaaaah! i love this, i’m gonna look those up!

@nonbinarycasmund:  if we're talking about singing, on the second night of Rosh Hashanah our crew started singing ani le dodi and I had the idea to sing it as a round! we sang it on and off for probably at least fifteen minutes -- it was one of the most beautiful things I've done in quite a while!

@lymazhu: I learn such interesting things following you, it's really nice! like, I have a friend who really likes shanties because he's worked/lived on a boat before but I learned a lot from your posts about them lately and it's cool to have a better idea of the whole thing since it had never occurred to me to, you know, look it up?

anon: this is possibly way out of nowhere but the longest johns were doing a sea of thieves stream and explained to the chat a little about how not all sea songs are shanties and that the one they were singing was a forebitter and i got really excited because i remembered you taught me about that! thank you for teaching me that!!

not technically out of nowhere! i had shanty asks the other day! i just took a small break for some other topics is all.
