Town seats are open in Wilton, Lyndeborough
Kermit Williams has filed for another term as Wilton selectman, but Steve McDonough declined to run for the seat he has held since the resignation of Dan Donovan. Kellie-Sue Boissonniault has filed for the two-year term. Two people have filed for the single seat on the Board of Sewer Commissioners: Michael Gerry and Tim Mortvedt, both first-time candidates. Open spaces include town treasurer, and cemetery trustee. In Lyndeborough, there are no contests on the ballot, no new names and a few empty spaces. Lee Mayhew has filed for re-election as selectman. No one filed for the three three-year terms on the Budget Committee. In the Wilton- Lyndeborough School District, two newcomers have filed for the Lyndeborough at-large position: Miriam Lemire and William “Bill” Ryan. No one filed for moderator – which is held by Walter Holland, who generally accepts a write-in – nor for one position from Lyndeborough on the Budget Committee. Board incumbents Joyce Fisk and Matthew Ballou again filed for their seats, and other incumbents will be returning. Voting will take place Tuesday, March 14. – JESSIE SALISBURY Town seats are open in Wilton, Lyndeborough

Looking down on the Piscataquog Valley from Winn Mountain in Lyndeborough, NH. The Uncanoonuc mountains can be seen on the right. The word Uncanoonuc is the French misinterpretation of the Abenaki word for breasts.
