Thanks girl. It rattled me a little, and I think the adrenaline made me not sleep. I've dealt with some rude people at work before, but holy mother of what?? Luckily, I had a great morning at work today and an older gentleman bought a couple books with a gift card, and had like $30 left and he gave the card to the person waiting behind him in line, a guy and  his two little daughters. So my faith in humanity is now back to comfortable neutral.
