Darling you are so amazing and you make everyone around you happy and I'm so fortunate that I get to see and your beautiful face all the time!!!
*cries* i know such beautiful people
I don't think it's a good excuse at all, but so many people just don't give a shit about anything unless it effects them directly. Whether that's something like climate change, people who are stuck in indefinite detention due to the shitty system or pretty much ANYTHING, they don't care. Apathy is disgusting and it's rampant and it makes me sad. People don't like doing shit or feeling things or changing things unless they can apply it to their own lives! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
exactly :( it's gross and it's pure selfishness really. I suppose I'm one of those ppl who's born under several minority/underprivileged umbrellas so I don't understand how ppl can't understand the suffering of others but on the plus side being born a queer brown woman amongst other things has made me super aware of issues that affect ppl of many walks of life
I didn't have any trans friends when I was in my early teens, I also didn't have any queer friends until long after I came out but that didn't stop me from being able to empathise with the inequalities they're faced with
that's why I try not to bring up my personal stuff when I'm talking about political issues, I don't bring up my family members who are poor or resettled refugees or my own sexuality or family history, because if a person is unable to empathise with someone without there being a personal connection then that's not what empathy is
