Benney Fanfic!! (Meet-Cute)
(I’m gonna count this more as a fic due to how it’s formatted so yay)

The way Bennett and Lyney met was due to even adventures, though Benny’s Adventure Team normally stayed in Mondstadt the team leader (and only member) himself thought maybe a change of scenery would do him good. Trying his best to go all around Teyvat, while obviously running into some struggles as he went- monster hordes, the occasional traps, cliff falls… all the normal things.. and finally made it to one of his most awaited spots, Fontaine!!
Now Natlan was also a major area he was interested in but from the stories the knights told Fontaine seemed rather different to the other nations, lot of laws at the very least- plus they had those creatures called Melusines!! Bennett heard they’re rather adorable he can’t wait to meet them and- oh… he just missed the boat.. and fell into the the water.. THE WATER NO NO WAIT!! He quickly swam towards the boat which stopped a bit away look through his bag to see the damage.. ugh he’s gonna have to dry all this out again.. well at least he’s on his way to his next pit stop. Maybe his luck will turn around?
So, to save all the details it really didn’t. He missed the Aquabus and had to walk all the way to Fontaine (almost falling off his path multiple times…), kept slipping on his shoes, almost got his stuff eaten by slimes, and a then couple of birds grabbed the food he just bought. Maybe things were going even worse.. though there apparently was a really good hotel nearby!! With great food and rooms and-… it was fully booked. So he sorta just stayed outside of the Hotel for the night a small sigh leaving him as he flopped onto the public’s bench. At least nothing worse can- oh.. rain, this always happens, he doesn’t know why he thought anything would go better. After a couple of minutes of lying in the rain he spotted two people running towards the Hotel Debord, quickly stopping under the outer roofing of the hotel. Talking amongst themselves allowing Bennett to get a good look at them. One boy and one girl, they looked rather similar, maybe siblings.. though the girl did have cat ears and a tail… maybe they aren’t or- WAIT!! He should let them know the hotel is booked “Um WAIT, before you try to book, I gotta-“ as Bennett tried to stand up he slipped on the wet sidewalk, slamming his head flat onto the ground, leading to him passing out.
When Bennett came to he realized he wasn’t outside anymore, rather he was in a nice hotel bed?? When even was he.. when did he get here.. He slowly sat up gripping his head in pain, yeah it wasn’t as bad as it would be for most folks but it still REALLY hurt.. Okay Bennett what would the dads do… ah right check the surroundings and.. he quickly tugged the blanket over him once more a small gulp passing down his throat. He was only in his boxers, much less than ideal.. his face slightly flushed as his grip tightens on the only other thing covering him.. who would do such a thing?? And why do such a thing, seemed a bit.. much for something of the sort and.. WAIT!! It must be that someone was jealous of his adventure team cause of him hanging out with the traveler. Did they think the traveler was a permanent member? Oh no he should definitely tell them this is all a big understanding and- suddenly the door knob started to turn, a small bit of light from the room invading the opened crack, was this person gonna hurt him.. no no no way!! It’s obviously just a small hiccup in his adventure he’ll just tell them what happened.
“Oh, look who’s finally up” said a soft, smooth voice Bennett shut his eyes out of fear more than anything, what would happen oh he’s so screwed!! “Hehe~ aww look how nervous you are..” The voice slowly got closer, Bennett could hear the soft thud of this persons shoes hitting the ground.. likely boots, when suddenly a hand gripped Bennett chin causing his eyes to open reflexively out of shock. What he saw before him was.. wait was that the guy from outside.. how did he get in?? Did someone cancel their room or- before Bennett could finish his train of thought the other hand of the blonde gently reached up to feel his forehead “Hmm…” mumbled the fellow blonde in front of him “Doesn’t seem to have a fever if so it’s not that bad… oh by the way sorry about your clothing, it was rather damp so I went to dry it and-”
As the man in front of Bennett continued he slowly lowered his hand down towards the thigh of the one below him, causing the taller to quickly jolt away in embarrassment “OH- Uh uhm.. I don’t know what you want from me but I’m really sorry if I offended you in someway!! Just.. please don’t hurt me!!” Bennett cried out quickly, the other just blinked for a bit before starting to chuckle. Which then formed into a fit of laughter, him having to grip the nightstand to stay up. Bennett was a bit confused.. why was his, supposed, captor laughing at him.. did he say something wrong, was this gonna lead to something worse?
“You’re funny little guy!” The other quickly sitting next to him on the hotel bed, Bennett honestly didn’t know what to do, what was this guys ploy, was he just pretending he didn’t mean harm or.. ugh this was so confusing “Now, since you’re, seemingly, okay I’m wondering what you wished to tell me and my sister before your unfortunate accident.” The other said with a bit of a teasing tone in his voice.. did he think this was funny? As Bennett turned around to try to better converse with the other man he finally got a good look at him.. he honestly was rather pretty… not important!!
“Oh-uh well… earlier, I was trying to book a room and they were all booked and I just didn’t want you two to worry about it. By the way were is the lady you were talking with earlier..”
Lyney cocked his head slightly before nodding quickly and standing up. “Ah yes!! Where are my manners, truly?? I’m the great magician Lyney, the one whom I was talking to was my dear sister and assistant Lynette!! Now, what is your name my dear adventurer?” He quickly held his hand to the other causing a slight flush on Bennett’s face before he took it
“Oh I’m Bennett!! The leader of Benny’s Adventure team from Mondstadt!!” He said a big smile on his face. Maybe his luck could go up…at least for a little while
