One Long Summer by Emily S (week 7)

                             Chapter 3                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~                         I’m Coimng to You ————————————–

Aelita was having nightmares. She called Odd. Sure, she could have called Yumi, but she called Odd. She missed him and he missed her too.

*Disclaimer* I do not own these characters. This is a fan fiction story of Code Lyoko. This story is set in AU where Odd and Aelita like each other and William is still possessed by X.A.N.A.

          Odd’s plane finally landed. He was real excited to see his family but didn’t know how he was going to last through the summer with his parent and mean sister. He walked all the way out of the airport when all of a sudden, he gets a message on his phone. It was from Aelita and that made him smile.

          “Hey, Odd. I know you’re not supposed to use your phone on the plane but I really miss the gang. I miss you.” Odd said reading the message out loud. He was smiling the whole time. It’s nice to be missed, especially by someone you care about and someone you fight to protect almost every day.

          His phone buzzed again. He got another text. “Ah, Princess, she can’t get enough of me.” He said ever so smugly. “I am afraid to sleep again. I don’t anymore nightmares.” Odd read out loud. “Hmmm, what should I do?” He askes himself.

          “What do you want me to do, Princess?” He texted her. “I don’t know. It’d make feel better if you were here.” Aelita texted back.

          “Dang it! I cant go back now. I’m already here. And a flight back would cost alot of money. Maybe I can stow away on a plane back.” He thought trying to figure everything out.

          “I think it’s just being here at school without everyone else is just going to drive me crazy. But I don’t know where to go.” Aelita texted. “What if you left the school and stayed with someone else? Would that help?” Odd replied. “Yes, I think so but where can I go?” Aelita replied “How about with my family? Odd texted. “What?” Aelita texted out of shock. “You can’t be serious, Odd. What would your parents say?” “Aelita, it’ll be fine. I’ll tell my parents that you’re a friend and you need a place to stay.” Odd reassured her. “Don’t you think that you should ask them first?” Aelita asked. “Ah, I’ll figure it out. Just find a way to get to the airport.

          Aelita went straight to Jim to ask for help. "Jim, I need a ride to the airport.” Aelita said nervously. “Ah, Aelita going home to family, huh?” Jim said being very nosy. “Yeah, I changed my mind about staying here for the summer. Are you staying here the whole summer?” Aelita said as the first thing that came to her mind. “Uh, yes, well, I’d rather not talk about it. Stand at the gate and I’ll drive my car around to pick you up. Go get packed first.” Jim said changing the subject.

          Aelita smiled as wide as she could. She was just happy to leave and to see her friend again. It’ll be nice to see someone that cares about her. She ran as fast as she could to get all her stuff together. She grabbed a few dresses and shirts and a couple of other clothing items.

        Aelita’s phone rang as she was packing. She was so excited that seh almost didn’t answer. She did of course. The call was from Odd. “Hey, Princess,  so I talked to my family and you can stay with us for the summer.” Odd said so happily. “Really!? I can’t believe! Alright, thanks! Jim is just going to drive me to the airport now. I can’t wait!” Aelita said so eagerly.

He’d never really interacted with Ulrich Stern. No need, after all, his and the original’s relationship was already strained. Of course, you can’t avoid it if you don’t plan it. A momentary lapse of attention and a sharp turn in the hall is all it takes.

Three practically hits Ulrich going full speed around the corner, bouncing back a bit. His eyes flick over the brown hair, the same old jacket, and the name comes to him. Ulrich Stern.

A second passes. Another. “Watch where you’re going, Idiot.” Three finally sneers before moving around Ulrich to keep going.

“Ack! Stern! You and Della Robbia get one hour detention tomorrow after class!” Leo shouted as he wiped the water from his face. The teacher glared at them and the water pistols each boy held.

                               Chapter 5                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~                             The Journey ----------------------------------------------------------------------              Aelita is finally on the plane and she does not like it. Aelita realises just how crazy all of this was. She left everything behind to see Odd without telling anyone else.                                   *Disclaimer*                  I do not own these characters. This story is set in AU where Odd and Aelita like each other and William is still possessed by X.A.N.A.             Aelita realised that what she was doing was ridiculous. She was doing all of this so that Odd could help her with her nightmares. She thought about how it's only been a day since her friends went home. She thought about how Yumi could have helped her. Why was she going through all this just to see Odd?             Aelita has always disliked dark spaces. She decided that once she was on the plane that she would get out of the bag. And she did. Once Odd's friends loaded up the luggage including her, she unzipped the bag and sat up. Aelita looked around and observed her surroundings. She held on tight to Mr. Puck.           The plane started to take off. Aelita was scared. She's never done this before. She felt helpless like in her nightmares.            "Odd can help me." she said. "After all, he's the reason I'm doing this." Aelita heard what she said and could not believe it. She felt crazy. She left the super computers all by itself. X.A.N.A. could attack at any time. She started to panic.           Aelita's phone began to ring. It was Odd. She answered the phone still in a panic. "Hello?" Aelita said with a shake in her voice. "Hello, Aelita? Are you ok? Did you make it on the plane alright? Odd asked. "Hi. I guess I am. And yes, I'm on the plane. I'm just a little scared. I've been on one of these before." Aelita said as she began to calm down. "I'm glad that you made it on the plane. And I'm sorry that you're scared. You'll be ok though. I've been on tons of planes before. If I can make it, you can." Odd said to cheer her up. "Thank you. But don't you think that this is irresponsible of me? I mean, I'm the obly other person who can work the super computer." Aelita said. "No, how are you supposed to do your job if you're not getting proper sleep? It'll be ok. I have a feelig that X.A.N.A. won't attack any time soon." Odd said. "How can you be so sure?" Aelita asked. "I always trust my gut instinct. Odd replied. And besides, Einstein and Yumi can handle it. Aelita, I'm excited to finally have a girl at home who isn't one of my sisters." Odd said as he laughed a little bit. "Won't it be weird with me there?" Aelita asked. "No way! It'll be nice to spend some time with you workout the rest of the gang there." Odd said so happily. "Well, I have to go now. Remember, when the plane lands, don't move and just let Bill's friend help you out. See you soon, Princess." Odd said. "Right! Ok. 'Bye, Odd." Aelita said. Knowing that the flight would take a awhile, Aelita decided to sleep until they landed. She lay down and zipped the duffle bag up. She quickly fell asleep.

Lava flowed from the wound on his chest, red embers contrasting with the blue lines of code that comprised the sword stuck in his body. There was no sensation of pain, not anymore, as his avatar dissolved further into ash. He managed to take a glance at his opponent’s face before his conscious abandoned him and the world turned black. No remorse. Relief, maybe, over removing an obstacle. There had been no love lost between them before he had been taken, but even their rivalry, their disdain of one another, had faded into the simplicity of a routine brawl. 

Stillness.  An air enveloped him of respite and apprehension as all purgatories must, though this was lacking that essential element of the unknown. He knew what lay before him. The reset period where his very essence seemed to dissolve into the endless lines of code that comprised his prison and salvation. Only that if he was lucky. A tortuous playtime usually followed. His own metabolism provided a jolt of power to awaken the puppet master, and while the rest of the program restarted, the learning side - the adaptive AI - advanced its knowledge of human pain and human fear. No point in wasting costly energy running experiments on a grand scale when one lab rat would do. To the kids outside, it only looked like minimal activity. Development of a new strategy without the attention garnered by a full fledged attack. 

At once his peace was over. Back to back attacks. The replicas were starting to serve a greater role in this push for domination. Fine with him. He’d much rather have the attack. The ability to retaliate and vent out his own pain and anger on the kids that let it get this far was exhilarating. As though he opened his eyes, a vision of hostile red flooded his vision as he was materialized in the rorkal.

Like his vision, the order manifested in his mind. No separation between master and puppet. A sinister smile played over his lips as he slammed the lever down towards him. Full speed. No mercy. But it didn’t mean the game couldn’t be as fun as possible.

Jeremie froze as he watches Ulrich faint before him. Nothing too far-fetch with them when XANA is involved. But there was no attack right now. He vaulted out of his computer chair and to the elevator. He Pulled Ulrich with a grunt into the room better. 

“Ulrich?! Wake up!” He called out to him, lightly tapping his cheek in an attempt to get his friend back.
