I remember like it was yesterday

the smell still remains the same,

as I walk down the alley by night,

a cold breeze that changed my life.

They told me not to worry,

“It’s just for one night”,

I said “Teddy, don’t you worry”,

I’ll be back as soon as Sun will

rise, above the sky.

Now it’s all gone,

I never really did,

still waiting for my sunrise,

still looking for my home.

I tried to find a way back,

I trully did,

but as soon as I took the right track

a cold breeze blew me out of the way.

Finally my eyes could see,

though, they could not believe,

There was emptiness, around me,

only scattered ruins, that once I called my home.

Only broken dream

made by a little boy,

only losen hope seen through the tears

left with cold breeze, laughing right at my face.

Now it’s all gone,

there’s nothing left,

still on the run carried with cold wind

still looking for my place.

They promised,

same as I did to my teddy,

that we will be back,

this war soon will be ending ,

and I will never forgive 

a promise we could not keep.

It will stay with me forever,

and only dear Heaven,

can give me my promised 

sunrise. It will be the last

that I’ll ever see,

The only happiness I’ll ever feel.

Now it’s all gone,

even losen hope,

still looking for my grace.

still waiting for my home. 

I wrote this song thinking about every refugee child and the ones that live in countries where is war like Syria.
