cataclysmic, he thought. crashing planes of existence, shards shattering to impale themselves on iron wrought bones. ‘ DON’T BE SO DRAMATIC. ’ he is bored, a boredom even adam felt. ‘ LET’S GO DO SOMETHING, BARTO. CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, INCITE A RIOT. ’ he was content staying put, left feeling vulnerable. i’d rather not, he thinks. seeing as one of your brothers has already caused enough trouble. trauma rolled in like fog, a pile up of automobiles on a near abandoned road. the confusion fed something heavy in the air. another spawn feeding from the carnage. somewhere it hid within a human, veiny wings curled inside a ribcage. it was eager to escape, mar the earth with angry claws  &  claim it as theirs -- demons were surprisingly traitorous. 

he caught whiff of it. like the smell before it rains, acidic. with it, came the unbearable urge to sink to knees  &  pray. his own hellspawn chokes on it. ‘ WHO’S AROUND? WHO’S AROUND? ONE OF THE FATHER’S CAST AWAY CHILDREN. BUT WHO, WHO, WHO? ’ an angel lingering among carnage, the scent of mercy. of tendons beginning to grow where once they’d been torn. quiet babbling reduced to dreamless sleep. ‘ OH, I KNOW WHO IT IS! ’ so did adam, the Blessed had always found time to give mercy to God’s precious children. even when they would never receive such themselves.  ❛    ━━━━━  RAPHAEL,   ❜  brann giggles because he knew he’d been right.  ❛   i’m not surprised to see one of you here. and one of His archangels, no less. daddy not giving you much attention?   ❜  /  @lysglorie.
