"I think I'll be changing back to normal tonight! Thank goodness!"
"I don't know what happened to you, but now it happened to me." The female lion shrugged, crossing arms with an annoyed expression.
"Welcome to my world. If it’s anything like what I’m going through, you’ll be stuck that way for two days." Good, he didn't feel alone now.
"Nah, its fine, Cancey!" The Arian suddenly got a boost of energy, but nothing could hide how fake that smile was. Suddenly patting the now female on the back, the same fake smile soon began to grow. "Come on, ya' chick! Let's go fit ya' for a new bra~"
Cancer trusted Aries in the way he accepted his apology, but the smile still worried him. Moving on from that subject was not as simple as the ram was trying to make it look.
He knew that better than anyone.
No point in calling him out on it, though. If anything, Cameron should try moving on for the sake of not dampening the other’s mood. He’d be doing him a favor.
"I-I don’t want a bra! They don’t look comfortable. Would they even have one to fit me?"
"----Yeah." Scars, even that word made the boy cringe. The constant abuse of his father after his mothers passing really hit hard, literally. Aries had what you called scars tracing most of his body, all with their own story. On long nights, they seemed to ache, or when someone mentioned the work "Burn" or "Bleed". "I wish too..."
Cancer’s scars were a reminder of the hardships he had endured in an orphanage ages ago. He had run around as if his life depended on it, tending to so many children that he cared for and bonded with. The sign threw away his own personal health only for every last one to disappear in front of him— never to be seen again.
As empathetic as the water sign was, there were some things that not even empathy could read into— just how much those scars might have hurt the other both mentally and physically.
"I probably shouldn’t have brought it up. Sorry…"
"Eh, not important. Just get in a lot of fights is all." He joked, unconsciously massaging the scars on his shoulder.
"Alright…" He sighed, round blue sapphires gazing down at his own two feet. Right now, he was walking around the yard barefooted. The soles of his feet were covered in scars, yielded by cuts from broken glass.
Even in this body, they still exist…
"You know, I always wished that I could get rid of people’s scars. Yours must have been painful."
"Nah, I'm used to getting punched in the face, and your scrawny ass couldn't hurt me even if ya' tried!" He laughed.
"You’re used to it? How can you laugh about that?"
True, calcium deposits in your bones come back stronger when they sustain tiny fractures, but that still meant constantly going through a lot of pain in order to develop that resistance.
Cancer found that kind of endurance he had achieved a bit unsettling, even though he wasn’t that powerful of a constellation.
----Blinks. "Oh come on, Cancey! You punched ME, you don't say ow!"
"Excuse me, but I’m a healer, not a boxer! I probably wouldn’t have tried anything if you didn’t touch me there!"
"I… I’m sorry. I didn’t leave any injuries did I? I’m probably just a bit edgy."
Blinks, barely fazed. "Well, I didn't think he/she would actually punch me?"
"…"
Waves hand around in pain. "Ow…"
