M Blanket

This post is kind of inspired by Danny (newwestcrew) as he mentioned he picked up some M Blanket 7s recently and I thought I would upload what I have. I have Bubba to thank for all these songs. There is a discography download of this out there on some blog but the rips of the 7s are lower audio quality.

M Blanket were a Victoria band formed in 1992, which in my view were highly influential in Victoria if not outside of the NW. They did a demo, a few comp tracks then put out a 7" on Spinout 360 records according to the internet this is a split with a band called Slinky. I don't own a physical copy of this record. Then for the next two 7"s they found a home on Victoria's own Slow To Burn label. They broke up in 1995. 2 of the 3 went into Ache Hour Credo which lasted from 95-96 and never put out a real release despite recording a demo and having tracks out on compilations. Dave Wenger then briefly was in Breakwater before forming Daddy's Hands with his girlfriend Emily. Daddy's Hands having been said to be a huge influence on Wolf Parade by members of that band.

Also this contains 4 songs NOT found in that download. 1 Instrumental, 2 Untitled songs, and 1 song which I don't know what it was on. Also included is a live set from a show at the University of Victoria in 1993. I haven't had time to label the tracks with what songs they are yet. Sorry. Downside to this rip is that the songs aren't all split up. Mostly split according to what side of record they are on so for those who want it split,split it yourself.
