His head was tilted downwards as he stood on her doorstep. Lucia seemed so wrapped up in Aaron and he didn’t know where else to turn. During their trip to the lake house, Oli had seemed more than capable of listening to him - something he hadn’t expected at the beginning of the trip - so that was where he went.  Kit smashed his hand into the wall. “Just open the fucking door before I-” He snapped his words quick upon seeing the door open to view Olivia stood there. If she hadn’t have answered he knew full well he’d have ended up at the casino gambling the last of his money away.

“God I need a drink to get through this damn thing,” Kit admitted to his date for the night. He grabbed a glass from a passing tray and downed it. He loved his job and the opportunities he got from it. But kissing up to conceited rich people could be exhausting and given tonight charity function at the country club where he was expected to not only keep the whole thing running but be a gracious host was truly a test of his sanity. “Is it just me or does every person we talk to get more and more self righteous as the night goes on?”

“It’s fine. I’m fine. I just don’t want this body sometimes, okay? I don’t even want a body, much less this one.” Dysphoria days were rare, but when they did happen they were overwhelming for Kit. They were on birth control entirely to prevent bottom dysphoria but around the time it needed changing they got really messed up as their body readjusted. And to make it worse, they’d been unable to bind with tape, like they normally did, because they’d run out and their order wouldn’t be in for a few days. Which meant baggy clothes and hoping things eased off.

In the realm of things Kit enjoyed doing, going to art galleries to support their fellow artists and friends, was probably at the top of the list. Which is how they found themself wandering through the opening of an art gallery in Gotham. Their eyes landed on a somewhat familiar face. Sure, it was one aged by time, but  they knew it. They’d been too close to its owner as a teenager to not know, even now. 

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t Tim Drake,” Kit spoke as they approached his side. “Long time no see, and don't you look lovely.” They were pretty sure he wouldn’t actually know who they were, they’d changed so much from the awkward nerd who wore baggy clothes covered in charcoal dust and hid in history books and only had any sort of real confidence with a guitar in their hand. They’d long since chopped long dark hair short and bleached it platinum. But they were going to see just how long it took for him to figure it out.

Kit had wandered into the cafe on chance. It was the kind of place that on any other day they might have just passed by, but they were in the mood for something warm and tasty and wouldn’t actually cost them a fortune. And to add to just how right their choice was, they were quickly distracted by a head of gorgeous red hair, sat atop the head of someone who dressed like an actual piece of art. It made Kit extremely happy and they quickly made their way over.

“I’m sorry to be so blunt, but are you aware you look like a piece of art? Because you do, and I’m enthralled.”

“I mean, I’m not saying I wouldn’t bang you like a screen door in a hurricane if you asked, but let’s start with drinks and go from there, sweets.”

“When I walked into the Hagia Sophia, I wouldn’t describe it as a religious experience, but I had an epiphany about how much of an experience architecture can be.”

His arm rested around her as they laid on a picnic blanket looking up at the stars. It wasn’t an original date by Kit’s standards but he’d wanted it to be special anyway, especially after they’d already been dating for a matter of months. “Do you think we’ll always be together?” Kit asked suddenly, reaching out his hand to take hold of hers. He’d never felt this way about a woman before. It wasn’t even because he didn’t want to at this stage, it was because nobody had ever caught his attention for longer than five minutes. “I dunno, maybe it’s a bit early to ask.” His head turned away from the stars and his eyes tilted to look into Lucia’s. “I hope so anyway. I can’t imagine anybody else putting up with the Harris star-gazing obsession.”
