Silence as she watches the general leave the room. Ever since her father’s victory in the polls, general Ironwood hasn’t been the same. Once the door automatically closes, Winter sighs, approaching the little maiden.

“The General just needs time to adjust.” So does she, honestly. A man like her father... the last thing he needed was more power.

Winter didn’t hesitate for a second before wrapping her own arms around Penny. Gods, she’d been so scared of losing her friend. The touch felt different, somehow. Softer. “I’m so glad you’re okay, Penny.”

Winter let out a breathy chuckle as her own arms circled around Penny. “I’ve become quite fond of them myself, Penny.” From the right people, of course, and Penny certainly was one of those.

When Headmaster Theodore informed her there were some people for Atlas who’d come in, Winter immediately left the room her family was in to greet them. The Ace Ops, Qrow, Robyn. Brothers, it was such a relief to see them. “I’m so glad you’re here,” she said, something in her wanting to hug Elm. She settled for placing a hand on the woman’s shoulder, setting thoughts of why the General wasn’t with the aside as best as she could.

“Elm, I need to ask you a question.” She had a feeling she knew what the answer would be, and if she was right about it, Winter would understand. After all, after what had happened largely because of Harriet’s actions, how could they be expected to work together? “I’ve been re-arranging teams,” she went on to explain. Surely Elm would understand why that was the case. “Harriet-” the name didn’t feel right on her tongue. “She thinks Vine would want you to continue to work together.’ A pause, out of respect for their fallen friend. “That may be so, but given the reason he’s not here, I have to ask - would you be able to work with her?”

A blanket. Well, that was a simple request, something she could easily do for the girl. This was good.

“I’ll get you one right away. Wait here for a moment,” she told the kid, offering what she hoped was a reassuring smile. Whenever she had to leave Weiss, that was the smile she gave her sister.

It didn’t take long for her to return with a soft blue blanket that Gale could easily wrap around herself.
