Bit late to the game because I forgot but new chapter of Mission: Return Home came out earlier today

For those who don't know it, it's a Cross-Centric fic where he gets taken from his AU and then has to find his way home in some sort of a stitched up multiverse. It's got a bit of Kross, mostly Crossmare which I haven't written yet, and it's a short fic overall.

I've recently:

edited chapters 1-8 to make it bearable and make sense (i would say I was on something back in 2023 - 2024 but I don't take anything, so it would just be my idiocy not editing and checking my work)

written chapter 9 to give old readers something to chew on

edited the tags minorly, but there are more to come as the story goes on

edited the blurb because it was kinda shitty before

I absolutely promise (and everyone can hold me to this) that I will not abandon everyone for over a year again (even if I was editing in the background during my year of absence).

With all that said and done, for anyone who cares, the faster M:RH gets done, the faster I can work on and finish Experiment Gone Wrong (for those who enjoy that fic).

I have managed to write 4 chapters in 3 days!! No idea how, and the epilogue doesn't necessarily meet the 2k criteria, but I think it's pretty!

Since I can barely wait for shit, I'm gonna be altering the tags on Mission: Return Home and then posting the final chapter of the fic. It's a small fic, but it's been on my list for a really long time, and it's a great little story.

I've learnt a lot from it when it comes to trying to burn a slowburn (which I very much struggle to do) and I'm taking notes so my next fics are better, but I think this one came out reasonably well!

For anyone who likes Crossmare, really hope you enjoy reading it, if you do!

Minor Update

Hello everyone.

To everyone who may have seen my (i think last) post about giving updates and trying to get the next chapter of M:RH out fast...

I think it's been about 2 months and I'm very sorry for that! A lot has been going on, mentally, physically and socially. I have worked on the chapter a little bit (in terms of editing and extending it a little, because it's still not done), it's currently over 6k words, and I'm expecting it to be 8-10k depending on how fast or slow I am in certain aspects.

After that it'll be the 4 most important chapters (from my perspective!!) and then it'll be done, this should be the last or second-to-last longest chapter of the fic, so I'm hoping I can just put my head down and get to it.

I don't know if I'll get it done today (16/11/25) but I want to get this completed ASAP.

Reason for why is because I kind of looked at the life I've been living for the past two years and decided that it's soul-suckingly awful, most of the people around me are in their 50s or up, and I would like to excel just a little more in my career considering I'm not even at the NLW in the UK.

With all that being said, I'm undertaking a degree as of Feb 2026, I will continue to post chapters, I just expect I'll be even slower than I've been in the past year or so, which is not great news... Especially when you think of my year hiatus.

The good news is that I've already done all the planning, it's just the writing.

The current plan is to hopefully finish M:RH before the end of the year and just finish that fic off, I'm going to asses EGW to see if I need to rewrite that (I'm kinda hoping I don't, but if it needs a rewrite I totally will because I like my writing right now and I hate my older writing).

If anything like that needs to be communicated with you guys, you'll be told via my tumblr and during the times I do get a break I am planning to write as much as possible!! But I do also have a full-time job (I'm not going part time unless I have to, just for the sake of saving my money).

I know I am being very ambitious, but I thought I would let you all know in case, I fall off the face of the earth. Just know that I don't intend to leave any of my fics unfinished, I plan on finishing all the stories I started, for better or for worse (most definitely for the better).

I know I don't have a big following/not many people interact with me across all of the interwebs but if anyone has queries about anything you can drop an ask - I'll respond whenever I check tumblr!

Ahhh hello people, I wish I had better news but as per usual I woke up late, and now I'm in pain, and I don't feel like I'm in the right frame of mind to do any writing :( This is specifically for the Mission: Return Home chapter that's meant to come out today.

However! It will be a very long chapter, longer than the usual ones, trying to make it as good as I can without it just being a walk-fest, so there's that.

I've gotten to 5.4k words, and they need to hit a specific area before I can end the chapter and considering where the duo are 5k words in and they still have like half the map of the final underground, yeah it's probably gonna be a hot minute before I finish the chapter, let alone edit the damn thing.

Even if I did write about 4k yesterday (I give myself a week and then slowly try to write and get it out between Fri-Sun to not completely burn myself out) I just don't think I could get there today even if I perceviered through the pain.

For anyone interested I will let you know when I finish writing (I'm hoping to get it out within the next week or so and not just leave it forever) but I'm in the office longer, then I have a special family event during the week, and after that silksong comes out! And I intend on playing it day 1.

So, I have two oneshot series that are either a WIP or I've presented the oneshot and not given anything more (it is an eventual plan to make it a genuine series, but it's also my least viewed fic on AO3).

I know I don't have much of an audience on tumblr so I'll just speak my thoughts here, despite writing them, I'm not much of a oneshot series type of person, it's either a long-fic or a oneshot...

Now I do want to focus on M:RH before I do any other work, but my thoughts are to make the series 'Trapped in 'Dreams'' a longfic on AO3 and keep the oneshot version here since I've posted every update here on it's own - and I will continue to do so when I pick it back up, probably somewhere between M:RH and EGW? Mainly because it's only meant to have a couple more chapters to add onto it, and it's also a small little thing that I tried to make... It is weird, which is why part of me wishes to abandon it, but I will finish it, I insisted to myself that I will finish all fanfics that I write, for the readers :)

The other one was Scar in YHS / TS which was kind of a funky idea to say the least, it was the series I first found Grian and it's also quite a turbulent story to say the least? This is the oneshot I've made that had the least amount of views, which I can understand, but I'm unsure if I should continue it both because of that, and because of the series generally.

Also I might make a post closer to the time, but I want to do something for Halloween this year (specifically a oneshot like I've done for Christmas etc in the past) - it is likely to be Hermitcraft / Life Series based, but let's wait for the Life Series to end first if I am going to make a halloween fic based off of that.

One more thing; which is kind of bad news, I've come to the realisation that I care way too much about my work, it sounds stupid, but because of what I do, it drains me significantly, that and the job application and life is generally just busy with that, praying that this won't affect my schedule for writing fics, but I find it difficult to even out time for everything.

For anyone interested I have finished editing all eight chapters of Mission: Return Home and I plan on writing the next chapter tomorrow

unsurprisingly there were some stuff in later chapters that didn't quite make sense, so I've fixed it all up the best I could without wholly removing said points and re-arranging them, so I hope it's not literal shit lmao

3 chapters edited in 3 days... Since there's only 8 chapters in Mission: Return Home it seems I may get this done quite a lot faster than the others! I still have another 8 to actually write, but still, it'll be faster than my last fic

Going to make sure M:RH is done first before I go to Experiment Gone Wrong, which is like my UT child, I originally tried writing it in 2020 and then I've redone the story and writing it again a couple years later. Hope to get to it real soon!
