She had gone too far, pushed too hard on her mission to bring down every single piece of shit in this entire group that she was forced to participate in. The guy she had tried to take down, the death eater, had overpowered her. Granted she could easily blame the wave of nausea that had come over her unexpectedly, it didn’t matter anymore as she laid on the floor bleeding from the injuries she sustained.
She didn’t want to be saved. Didn’t expect to be saved, and yet just when she thought the final blow was going to be delivered Billie could hear another fight breaking out with someone else… someone familiar… someone who had finished taking care of the guy about to kill her and was now pleading with her to live.
She was sure she was going to die now because looking up to see Garrett above her wasn’t possible. He was dead. He was the reason she was in this situation right now… and now she was going to get to be with him.
“I already am…” she said, weak. Dazed enough to not realize that technically she hadn’t even closed her eyes long enough to really be dead. If he was here… than she had to be and if he didn’t do something soon enough, she certainly would be and it would be too late to realize that Garrett was alive.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
She wasn’t supposed to be doing all of this. When Garrett had made some death eater take on his appearance for Antonin to kill in order to get them all off his back he never....he never expected this to be her reaction.
He had been gravely injured, so much so that if he didn’t do something drastic then he really was going to be executed. Someone had prepared him a polyjuice just in case he needed an escape...instead he had just obliviated his memory, put his own hair in and got him to drink it.
When Garrett was found by a colleague he was filled in while he was healed. And it was then when he learned about Billie and what she had been doing. He had urged for them to keep tabs on her to make sure she didn’t go too far. Which is why he was here now.
He heard what she was going to do, he didn’t hesitate to go no matter how much he was still recovering it didn’t stop him from storming the place.
The moment he saw Billie on the ground...everything went red. He had been hit. He didn’t care.He made his way to Billie’s side and cradled her into his arms. Her words digging into him more than any knife or spell could.
“No.” Garrett shook his head brushing some hair from her face. “no you’re not” he whispered before he knew he couldn’t just stay there and break down. “I got you” he told her as he shrugged off his coat tearing parts of it off before he started tying off her wounds as best he could. He wasn’t a healer, he didn’t know any spells, but if it was enough to keep her from bleeding out, he’d take it.
“I got you” he whispered as he scooped her up into his arms, “Just stay with me baby” he spoke to her before he separated out. In short bursts, he couldn’t risk hurting her more.
He was panting by the time he burst into the healers office. “HEALER” he called out as he ignored the pain from his own wounds. Thankfully his friend who knew his situation had set up a safe spot and was on them in an instant, Garrett never left her side as they treated her.
