Something about the way that Somnis rested on his shoulder had his chest feeling kind of funny - he couldn't put a finger on it, couldn't work out quite what the strange fuzzy, almost full feeling meant. He had similar with Levi, of course - any time he looked at him with that smile, wrapped his arms around him and held him tight. Any time their lips brushed and touched and he lost himself in the other... It was similar, so similar, but maybe a little different? It had to be different...

He let out a breath of a laugh, shaking his head just slightly, but any potential reply was gone the moment Somnis was moving around and taking his hands.

That feeling in his chest grew. Warm, insistent, almost identical to with Levi... He swallowed. And then he stepped closer and Luca's breathing stopped. Oh... He managed to inhale a breath, eyes fixed on the other with a mixture of nerves, awe and something he couldn't explain, a kind of softness, a vulnerability usually reserved only for Levi. He wasn't even sure he'd taken in every word, blinking in confusion at the pinkie before it dawned on him that he must've missed something. Swallowing again, he took his pinkie, giving a little nod. "O-Okay..." he nodded, doing his best to ignore the butterflies in his stomach that definitely were identical. "I'll do my best. I just want you to be comfortable while you're here..."

“Sorry, you want me to what?” Luca’s voice had taken on a whole new pitch, his eyebrows higher than he was sure they were supposed to go. But what was he supposed to do?! The person in front of him had asked for such an unusual favour, something he wasn’t sure they were supposed to know he could do, or that he could actually do in the first place, magic or no magic. Pencil gripped tight in his hand, he set his fist back down on the paper, “I-I don’t know if that’s such a good idea...”

o p e n | Bright, fear-filled eyes stared at the charred mark on the ground not too far away from the two of them. They widened further when a spark of something purple fizzed up and thankfully out. "I... did not know I could do that..." He whispered, looking down at his bare hands, a slight purple tinge at the tips of his fingers, "I... will pay for the rug..."

o p e n | “could you just-… sorry, i know it’s been ages i just… if you could hold still for just a little longer, i… sorry…” luca stammered, fingers clenching around the pencil in hand as his cheeks flushed with a mix of exasperation and embarrassment. drawing from a live subject was one of his favourite methods but something was apparently making them especially fidgety. “i swear it’ll only be a few more minutes…”

o p e n | "Has anyone ever told you you have like, the perfect models face? Not like, a runway... though, you'd definitely look good there too! I just um... I mean an art model. Like... live drawing. Or... Or something. Shutting up now."

"If this is weird I... I'm really, really sorry and please don't... don't yell, I didn't mean anything bad by it, really! But... But you were sitting there and.. and the sun was just right and... And well," Luca's words stammered out faster than he could control them, hands shaking around the sketchbook in hand. He had pencil smudges all the way up the side of his hand, but as he held out a piece of paper to the other, with a fresh sketch of them on there, he tried not to pay it much attention, "I drew you. And I thought maybe it'd be less weird if... if I gave it to you rather than kept it. But... But anyway, thank you for being my model, I guess? Even if you didn't... know it was happening."

O p e n | "So.... my parents are away for like, a whole month and my sister's gone off on some college retreat and... and I mean, I have an empty house. If... If you wanted you could um, you could come over? And... And there's spare rooms and beds and stuff if you wanted to stay? Or you could just hang out in the day! Or not at all. Whatever... Whatever you want, really."

Luca hummed as he listened, walking almost sideways so he could keep turning to Somnis as they wandered up the stairs and into the hallway. It was a big house, that much had never been in question. Most of it was modernly decorated, all bright or monochrome, but there were little pockets of space, the odd corner, some rooms, where their heritage really shone through. Little shrines, altars, shelves stocked with supplies. Very few people came upstairs so no one ever got to see it beyond who was invited and allowed, so it had never been an issue. Luca and Luna’s own bedrooms were probably the most mismatched spaces in the whole building, though, and that much would become clear pretty soon.

He slowed at first, looking up at Somnis as he spoke about Levi, about how he changed, and while the flush was there and he felt nervous and wasn’t hugely convinced that he was good for Levi, he… did have to admit that he was softening. Both of them were. Luca wasn’t so closed off with him, or with a lot of people it seemed. Somnis was evidence of that. Levi definitely seemed to smile more, smile easier… He inhaled softly at the hand on his shoulder, giving a feint nod again. “I… I want to keep being good for him…” he admitted softly, “I’ve never felt like I do about him about anyone before but..” his eyes lingered on Somnis, on the warm smiles, his expressive eyes, everything about him and for a moment, he lost that train of thought.

What was he saying? Oh… right. “I just… I don’t want to do anything that pushes him away. And I’m always scared that I will.” he glanced down the hall now, to a nearby door - a paint-splattered canvas amongst near-white walls, then to some of the other doors - little spare rooms that hadn’t been slept in or used in a while. They were likely full of dust by now… He made a split second decision, stepping over to his room with a small smile and opened it, nodding for Somnis to follow, “Here, come in. You’ll have to forgive the mess it’s… I have a project due in a couple weeks so it’s… chaos.”

It was a large room, with one side practically entirely window that looked out on their garden. The space had practically been split in two, one half by the window an art studio that also happened to be where most of the mess was, and the other half was almost pristine - a bed, a small sofa that folded out into a bed and a desk with a computer, all lined with shelves of sketchbooks, art books, novels and of course, his own little collections of magic supplies. Everything he could need. Salem was even just about poking her head out from underneath a chair covered in paint stains. “I uh… make yourself at home…”
