“Do you need help with that, sweetie?” Modron asked, resting a gentle hand on their shoulder and examining the task at hand.
"So... it's Valentine's Day. You want to be my valentine?"

Modron had been cheering for a while now-- since freshman year, at least. She'd learned long ago that their rival school was nothing but trouble; that all of their already-terrible athletes cheated and resorted to any-means-necessary to beat her team; that the cheerleading squad was the only thing holding their basketball team together, obviously, and soon enough they would get so bad that they would drop to the last division. She knew all of these things to be true.
And yet she couldn't seem to remember any of those pseudo-facts when she saw this one girl in that damned black and red uniform that she couldn't believe she hadn't seen before-- surely she must have, assuming the other wasn't new. Her sheer beauty that came from all throughout her body was pretty hard to miss.
Modron was so distracted, in fact, that she fell behind a few beats in the cheer and almost tripped over the other girls on her team. She blinked a few times and tried to ignore both the irritated sighs of her own teammates and the other glaringly-gorgeous girl on the rival squad, without much luck on either.
if you had to chose between ruby or the other children, who would you chose?
"Oh, now see, that’s not fair," Modron protested. "I’ve known the others all my life. They’re—- they’re my family for god’s sakes! But I don’t know what I’d do without Ruby— I just— I choose them all. I can’t imagine living without any of them.”
Modron, how do you feel about Ruby?
"I… I feel like she’s one of my best friends. I mean, obviously it goes a lot deeper than that— she’s my support, my passion, my tears and my happiness and everything in between— but at the end of the day, that’s what it comes down to. Ruby’s so smart and brave and talented and just wonderful to be around. She’s my girlfriend, my best friend, and I wouldn’t want her any other way."
