most people probably didn’t enjoy part-time jobs that they were using as temporary sources of income, but auggie loved work at tim & marley’s coffee shop. it was sweet - there was a small bookshop in the back room and people came around to relax. considering it was small, there usually weren’t more than four or five customers at a time. but that didn’t matter to august. actually, he probably liked it more because he was getting used to the regular customers without dealing with too many unfamiliar faces at once. he was leaning against the counter, apron hanging loosely around his neck, phone in hand when the glass door at the front of the shop opened and swung shut. “Welcome to Tim’s. I mean, Tim’s and Marley’s. Not like the dog.” he greeted, slipping his phone in the pocket of his apron before gesturing to his nametag. “The name’s August. Most people call me Auggie, though.” he smiled, standing up straight so that he could finally take a look at the incoming customer.
