Long story short, this was supposed to be finished for Mérante's 197th birthday (his 2nd Centenary is about to fulfill in three years) but I panicked with the chin and head's position and I left it for later. I decided to retake it now that Juleap, the Ballerina/Leap! fandom friendly event is about to end. Some things are all over the place, but I'm very proud how I overcame my fears and finished it. 💪🏻

My purpose was to explore how would the movie version would look like with his real look, only a mustache instead of a full beard. Just as I suspected, very distinguishable and fancy. (He kinda looks like any person's average Belle Époque ancestor. 🤭)

Made in IbisPaint X and finished at July 31 of 2025. The background tapestry is part of the background options in the app, I didn't design it.

Please hear me out, ever since I watch a movie on our TV ("that I didn't know the title of cause my dad had the remote")

I have itching to find that out and that I did like two days ago, and watch the Ballerina/Leap! Movie....

One thing...

ONE... THING...

That got me it's attention is Louis Mérante and Odette, why....

(because that was the scene that caught me in the first place, when I still haven't known the title yet)

I'm having so many feeling right now, and I have been reading fanfictions abou the two of em...I just ughhhhh.... I hate and like it when I'm like this.... I'm hopeless..

I only see the movie once and immediately I love the two.... Mérante and Odette...

i watched ballerina (2016) over the weekend and it was AMAZING

the characters were lovable and unique. the story was incredibly inspiring. the animation was smooth. the choreography was gorgeous. the scenery was breathtaking. i felt like i was in a dream, in the best way possible. this movie made a girl with two left feet wish she was studying at the paris opera ballet.

i’m in desperate need of a sequel that explores félicie and victor growing up + their friends + more odette x mérante, we probably won’t get it though :’)

i might somehow find time to rewatch it this week despite all of my school work. i’m so obsessed. 10/10
