We met a beautiful luna moth in the forest today while picking up trash. At first we thought she was deceased, but she shivered when I picked her up, and she laid in my hands for 5 minutes getting warm before flying off into the spring forest. Most evenings we go for “trash walks” in the forest, and tonight the forest left lovely gifts for us in return. The Polyphemus moth was amazingly intact and the barred owl feather was so fluffy and soft 🦉
