      “ oh — ? that music has a nice beat to it! ” veterinarian approaches, smile so bright already being worn on pale features, “ what kind of music is it? I’ve never heard it before ~ . ” man sits near other, foot tapping to its rhythm without consent.

      “ Mallory, look, look! ” tone of voice is more than excited, man almost shoving his cellphone on woman’s face, though he stops centimeters before the collision, only to show her the news that made him so excited: a new, thematic bar opening up rather close to where they stood. and that day, of all things!

      “ should we go? can we go?! ” there’s a sparkle in heterochromatic eyes, like a kid in a candy store. “ they even their own cocktails! ” he’s trying his best to lure her, smile as bright and as big as one could have.

   he wasn't expecting any of those — the compliment back or the acceptance of his sudden invitation to the woman sitting next to him (truth be told, he was almost coming with terms of a possible yell and a slap). hence why he is what he is after hearing her words: dumbfounded, with eyes opened wider and lips slightly parted, Bryan truly did look like the personification of surprise.

      “ o-oh! ” man will gasp after a couple of seconds, lost in his own world and also lost in his own tiredness, taking a tad more to process everything correctly, “ of course! ice cream is always a good treat after work ~ . ” bright smile offered, veterinarian already getting up and arms stretching upwards, placing them on his sides afterward.

      “ it’s a couple of blocks from here if you don’t mind walking... oh! but I don’t mind calling a cab if you do! ” there’s definitely awkwardness mixed in his speech — rare were the times where he was able to enjoy the company of others (and a beautiful company she was).

   and, with phone already in hand, he waits for her — until a sudden ‘ ah! ’ escapes pale lips: “ where are my manners?! ” stupid sleepy mind! “ my name’s Bryan. may I know yours, miss? ” heterochromatic eyes glance at said woman, smile never leaving features.

   pale hands carried two cups filled to the brim with ice and some type of tea — flavor being chosen ultimately by the worker, as Bryan was completely lost with the amount of choices. a few steps taken, those are placed on the wooden table, veterinarian sitting in the remaining free chair soon afterwards, fingers fiddling around the cup that he held tight between both hands. finally, lips part away from each other, revealing a soothing and kind voice, accompanied by a smile so warm:

      “ how have you been, Lauren? it’s been a while since our last date, right? my apologies — work has been keeping even busier than I thought I could be... ” sigh leaves instantly after phrase is finished, cold and damp hand now stroking nape embarrassedly. great way to show his affection to his newly romantic interest — disappearing for days without notice because of work. just great, Bryan.

      “ Micchan ~ ! ” male calls from behind, cheerful tone present in voice (thank heavens for those days off — it surely was making wonders for his mood!) as long legs move towards her direction, warm smile coloring pale features.

      “ I still have some days off! want to hang out somewhere for today? my treat! ” vet happily asks her, heterochromatic eyes shining with energy and excitment.
