carnation, primrose, peony, Queen Anne's lace, & magnolia :)
Carnation: If I handed you a concert ticket right now, who would you want to be the performer?
Hmm. Driftless Pony Club, I'd say. Sadly, they haven't been active for a few years. I am going to see The Dodos in May, though, who would probably be my second choice
Primrose: Favorite kind of soup?
I'm not ordinarily a soup person, but I did once have a creamy sweet potato soup that was absolutely fantastic.
Peony: What's your favorite hot beverage?
I really want to be a tea lover, but I find that it's too weak for my tastes. So a latte with some flavors in it is usually my preference.
Queen Anne's Lace: Would you rather carve pumpkins or wrap presents?
Carve pumpkins, any day. It's something you do with friends and have a good time. Wrapping presents (for me, anyway) is something done alone and at the last minute.
Magnolia: Favorite kind of candy?
Are we counting chocolate? Because a couple weeks ago I bought a chai chocolate bar with crystallized ginger in it that was out of this world. But any candy that involves chocolate is good. Oh, coconut m&m's are also surprisingly subtle.
The Lion King :)
If I were the queen, the first thing I would do would be………………to abolish homework from the country’s schools???? (thanks babe <333)
oh crap crap crap I meant 9 & 17 goshdangit whoops
no worries :D (also aah new icon)
9. Tattoos I want
I’m kind of considering getting a buffy quote (I’m going to be a fireman when the floods roll back) on my ankle in latin (I think it’s okay to do that if you did the translation yourself). But I doubt that I’ll go through with it.
17. A fact about my life
I’m what is known as “twice exceptional,” a term that refers to people with an IQ at the gifted level or above (not trying to brag or anything. it’s just how it is) and a learning disability (ADHD, in my case, with a side of dysgraphia). I’ve been meaning to make a long post about this but I keep putting it off so now’s as good a time as any to say a few things. It has afforded me an unusual (and frequently difficult) experience of the educational system. Public schools cater to one type of brain. They try (and, honestly, mostly fail) to accommodate gifted students, and pretty much always fail to accommodate students with disabilities. They simply don’t know how to deal with someone who falls into both categories. My junior year, I would come from class at the local university and go immediately to “study skills,” a highly-regulated study hall for students with learning disabilities. It was and continues to be (though I’m now in college) an absolute mess. I have a passion for learning, yet being a student is the single thing in life that I am worst at. So yeah, there’s your fact. It got a little out of hand. Sorry.
24, 44, & 72
24. Favorite part of your daily routine?
Hmm... lunch is good. Unless there's something better to eat at dinner.
44. Trip to outer space or bottom of the ocean?
I gotta go with the ocean. I watched a movie where someone died in space at a pretty young age so I honestly find it kind of scary whereas I lack the normal fear of deep-sea creatures.
72. How many pillows do you sleep with?
Depends where I'm sleeping. At school and at my dad's, 2. At my mom's, 4. I guess it's due to different pillow types.

6, 25, & 29 :)
6. Last song I listened to
I'm currently paused in the middle of Guitar by Cake
25. My favorite holiday
Halloween is the only one I really get into. Pagan fun-times all around!
29. 3 things that annoy me easily
Noise is by far the biggest one. People tapping pencils, singing, and having loud sex can ruin my mood in seconds. But last night, for instance, my roommate was working while I was going to sleep and that didn't bother me. I think it's just unnecessary noises.
People who block hallways and sidewalks are also the worst
And finally, Ohio weather is the worst. For example, today it was 59 degrees. Tomorrow, we're looking at up to 2 feet of snow. It's ridiculous.
m0ledro replied to your post “my life is like a suppressed sneeze: a vast amount of work for...”
while I'm inclined to disagree with the 2nd part, I must compliment you on the excellent metaphor.
thanks, on both counts. as usual, i'm being more tongue-in-cheek than serious. it was brought on by a suppressed sneeze, not a realization about the meaninglessness of my life.
