"you're gonna have to say that again" he continues, a hint of smugness and also disbelief in his smile "for a second there, it kinda sounded like you were asking to join the Hellfire Club."
Holding her books close to her chest, Chrissy’s eyebrows rise surprised, gasping every time a vehicle drives past them that he avoids them masterfully, both with worry and surprise each time. “Be careful!” Sometimes, she thinks that maybe the school rumors about him having made a deal with the devil aren’t so unfounded, though she’s aware not for the reason people spread them.
“Well... can’t I?” She asks, avoiding curious eyes staring at them, “The school counselor said I needed a hobby besides cheerleading, so I thought... I mean, you’re nice enough, and I’m not really the chess kinda girl. But I’ll look for something else if you guys are full.”
