Hello, I will be Danny Lawrence’ lawyer today. This is my argument for Danny killing Maddie. “Danny could have used the locket for leverage!” you say. Maddie’s not dumb. Laura & Co. have threatened her many times before, but have not gone through with their threats. Danny holding Maddie’s locket prisoner, probably wouldn’t have done the trick. Granted, Maddie probably would have let Danny go, but after how long? How many more ribs would she have broken, to get the point of, “I don’t answer to you”, across? Maddie has never been a friend to them, that has always been clear. While she hasn’t acted against them, exactly, she has acted against the students, and her attitude and past behavior certainly didn’t help her case of, “I didn’t kill those people”. Now, I’ll admit, Laura & Co. should have believed her. She seemed very sincere, and she would really have no good reason for doing so. Therefore, I don’t think this argument is a good one, but I’m just covering the bases. Maddie was literally breaking Danny’s bones. While Danny could have used the locket for leverage, I doubt the thought was running through her mind, as her ribcage was being crushed. What she did could fall under self-defense. Not to mention, she probably had fears for Laura’s life, as well as her own. Of course, you could argue that she was angry, and that she hated Maddie. You could argue that anger and hatred did not give Danny the right to kill Maddie. And you’re right, those feelings did not give her the right. But think about it: Maddie has shown that she feels no remorse in killing someone. She has shown that she cares for no one’s life, other than her own, and Carmilla’s. Danny cares for her own life, Laura’s life, the students’ lives. Maddie had no hesitation about killing Danny, and others. Danny was actually saving herself, and protecting her friends. Danny may have accused Maddie unfairly, but she did not attack Maddie. Maddie attacked her. If we’re on the topic of hatred and rash decisions, that is a prime example. Danny is not completely blameless and pure, and Maddie is far from innocent, but I believe that Danny did the right thing. Maddie was dangerous, and was endangering Danny. ~ (Please keep in mind that I was never a fan of Maddie’s character, and it’s totally okay if you have a different opinion about Danny killing her, than I do. Also, to Danny: I’m sorry I couldn’t have done a better job defending you. 😥)
