Magnai's calm lasted about as long as it took the smug little Seelie to leave the master to his punishment, the chain not budging no matter how much strength the varcolac put behind it. He hadn't been weak enough to be stopped by such a flimsy thing since he was a pup. As much as Magnai knew logically it had more to do with magic than the chains themselves, that didn't stop him from seething at the injustice of it. At least until another took advantage of his vulnerability and he was robbed of his wolfishness too. Then the third spell came.
Magnai gave up his struggling once he recognized the attention his presence in the Undercroft was beginning to attract. He grabbed the pole with both hands, pressing his forehead to the metal hard enough to hurt and smothering a snarl that wouldn't sound right in this throat regardless. The last spell nearly felt like having rut thrust on him again and the combination of all three was doing nothing for Magnai's composure. He could feel the sweat trickling down his back. When the ex-Enforcer got his hands on Merek, he was going to murder him for taking that talisman.
Even with his hearing dulled, he recognized the sound of another daring to approach the trapped master. Magnai's eyes flashed warily towards the sound, growling with all the authority he held onto by sheer force of will, "That's close enough."
