Babies from MA22 have all shed and two are already accepting food.

The likelihood of 100% of the babies being diffused when both parents are het diffused is extremely low, so it's entirely possible that mamma Mayonnaise is herself diffused and her Blizzard coloration simply makes it impossible to see.

Here are the four apprehended little ones from MA22. All four are diffused, three Charcoals and a Classic. All tiny, all gorgeous. Mayonnaise and Aurelian are a good match!

Any especially spicy children out of the latest babies?

So far they are about as spicy as a glass of oat milk across the board. Oat milk with a dash of vanilla extract.

The zesty babies will be coming from Isis, Left Shark, Rosepink, and probably Peekaboo starting next week. The clutches so far have been from Hatshepsut, Morse, and Mayonnaise who are all super chill ladies.

You know the babies are gonna be sweet when you open their humid hide and they wiggle towards your hands rather than away from.

Is the fifth snake from one clutch still hiding?

Still missing, yes. :(

I don't think it was specifically spicy behavior so much as it was natural instinct to disburse combined with bad luck being in an incubator with a hole for a thermostat probe big enough to let a baby snake slip through. It's not like they intentionally ran away, they just did what nature dictates a baby snake should do.

I'm hoping they'll turn up before they get too dehydrated. I've been looking for signs but they often curl up somewhere safe until their first shed so they might be tucked in a nook and not moving.

Back from vacation

And another clutch hatched while I was out of town, over a week early, and in my incubator. They managed to push the lid off of their egg cup and go on walkabout. I found two in the water reservoir of the incubator and two more in other egg cups that I'd left the lids off of to allow for better air flow.

A fifth is still at large.

I'll post photos later this evening because the babies that I caught are awfully sweet and cute. Hopefully I'll find that fifth kid soon. I tore apart the incubator, looked around the area, and unfortunately there are many, many places for a tiny neonate to disappear in my reptile room.

Mayonnaise surprised me with this lovely little clutch! I thought she was still a few weeks out but she apparently elected to skip a pre-lay shed. Well done, May!
