one interesting thing about my OCs is that Merian could bake well but not cook well, and Erandir could cook well but not bake well.

Similarly, You’d *think* Caliam would just get Raya to do it and Raya would be shoving him out of the kitchen because she wants some peace while she does, but actually Caliam would be the one likely to experiment with different recipes in a scientific manner for the best bread while Raya is experimenting chaotically with different recipes for stir fry and soup.

Arric and Wynn are both adequate though not spectacular at either.

None of this matters to the plots (I think) but it’s important to me that you all know this

#Am I procrastinating still on my Inklings Challenge story?#Maaayyybe #My ocs #It’s really just about how they approach recipes and rules #Merian is largely a by-the-book character #Erandir is an if-it-works-do-it character #But while Raya is almost chaotic (in a good way) with a knack for flavor combinations she’s otherwise somewhere in between Erandir and Meri #Merian when it comes to instructions #While Caliam wants to specialize (catch him staying up to the wee hours to research *everything* there is to know about sourdough #Before he even starts)#(Some of this only applies to the modern AU)#Arric and Wynn have to be pretty competent actually but they don’t do it for enjoyment whereas Erandir (though he *also* has to be)#Enjoys cooking to a larger degree than either do and he also has something of a knack #Caliam probably wouldn’t be too bad at cooking either tbh but his sister loves it more #She’s also trying to improve her baking but is careful not to encroach on Caliam’s territory #Neither of them have seriously discussed this it’s just understood #I love these guys so much
