Not saying this to detract from people's creativity or expression but like..
It's really disheartening to see so many fics and requests specifically written for fem readers
I could see a request that has nothing to do with gender, or where gender is irrelevant- but it still ends up being enforced or applied
As a nonbinary person who's been reading self inserts for longer than I'd care to admit, I've felt excluded for a long time and resigned myself to just reading fics designed for a fem reader
I mean, this prevalence of seemingly only fem-oriented self insert content is why I made this blog. I really want to write for queer people. I want to create a space where gender isn't explicitly applied to every piece of writing because it can be very exclusionary.
My hope is that people can feel free to request.. Pretty much anything. Whether its queer or has to do with being differently abled, or if it's a relationship dynamic that doesn't get much representation- I want to write content that people can connect to without feeling like they've been put into a box or like they have to identify a certain way to enjoy the piece
