There should be various websites that will send you a poem ma day. With that method via paper book I'd definitely get an anthology so you're exposed to lots of poets and styles.

I'm super happy to hear that. It's on my list because that type of show is always relevant to my interests, but you never know how they'll turn out.

I definitely love the challenges and watching the design/construction/planting, and I find the overall attitude similar to Bake Off, in that all of the contestants want to do their best and they want everyone else to do their best too.  So it’s overall, pretty low drama (or low interpersonal drama, at least).

I love it when I find one that has a really unexpected interior.  Like there was a house for sale a couple years ago in the fancy part of town, and it’s a house that I’ve admired as I drive by, because it looks super classy.  Like a little brick castle with a little round turret and a fancy wall with climbing ivy.  Like you could just live your fantasy life in this urban castle, so I went to see the real estate listing.  The interior was SO TACKY.  In every room, everything was either super matchy (like the wallpaper, curtains, and table cloths all match exactly), or everything clashed horribly (like a bathroom where everything is black and white, except any fabric which is hot pink and floral).  And it was just, so weird.

Ooh, and down the street from me there was a house that looked completely ordinary outside, and inside it was just...okay, I found the link to the listing, it’s just so weird.  Here it is.

I really don't understand the live action remake fad, especially when they're SO similar to the original. Plus part of the joy of Dumbo is you don't see people's faces. Why live action these movies that will require so much computer shit?

Yeah, I get annoyed with the quantity of remakes, in general.  It’s like...have they run out of stories?  Because that’s what it feels like.

And, yeah, one of my first (rational) thoughts about it was “what, they added people?”  In the original, the story centers around the animal characters and people are just sort of peripheral at best.  So they just added a bunch of human characters?  It seems like it would shift the story really weirdly.

The other thing I don’t like about live action remakes is that it feels almost dismissive of traditional animation.  Like they’re upgrading their old films, because technology now is better.  And while there’s a lot of really good computer animation and CGI or whatever, I just enjoy traditional animation.  I think it’s cool, it takes a huge amount of skill, and it’s a lot more flexible as far as style.

I worry so much about what my face is doing or if my expression hasn't shifted with conversation. I don't know what shifted, because this never used to cross my mind.

I think I've always (at least for my teen and adult life) been uncomfortably conscious of my facial expression in public.

I've had friends ask me if I'm okay or if I'm sad/angry/upset, and I'm like "Uh, this is just my face?"  My sister has sort of the same thing, like people tend to think she's angry but it's just what she calls her "natural look" (this was before people said things like “resting bitch face”).

Sometimes I feel like I’m making really exaggerated expressions, and someone will think I’m being facetious, but no one notices that.  They always seem to notice when I’m not actively doing facial expressions though.

16: What book has been on your TBR pile the longest?

I think it might be When the Mind Hears: A History of the Deaf. I got it years ago in high school and haven’t gotten around to actually reading it yet. It does look super interesting, I’ve just either not had the motivation or have been reading something else at the time.

19: Why did you start your book blog?

I started this tumblr straight after I finished high school in 2014. I’d been on and off tumblr since around 2012, and this current one started out as not entirely a book blog but with other aesthetic-y photos and random posts. I streamlined it into more of a book blog after a while as that was what I was interested in. I’d been wanting to get back on tumblr for a while during years 11 and 12 of high school but I didn’t want to distract myself from studying so I started it as soon as I finished. The reason I choose book blogging is that I’m very passionate about books and reading, and I wanted to be part of a community of like minded people.

48: Do you write, highlight, underline etc in your books?

Unless it’s a textbook I tend to avoid it. I’m not super against doing it, I’ve just never really felt the need. And I definitely wouldn’t do it on a special or expensive book.

If it's any help I worried about my review about 2000% more than I should have. It ended up being ridiculously routine (other than fucking sending me to a doc whose office was totally inaccessible for wheelchairs, which I sent a really angry letter about).

well it makes me angry for you but it helps to know. grrrr, so much hate for this.
