I guess I’m making a Mabon post for witches who can’t have cinnamon or incense.
Though I am not a wiccan witch, I do enjoy the sabbats and I get stoked for Mabon but I wish every Mabon suggestion wasn’t centered around cinnamon and incense. My roommate is deathly allergic to both and I’m sure there are plenty of witches who are too.
I plan on eating raw apples, drinking wine, and having carby foods. Making pies and stews is also a good idea (I made veggie ‘beef’ stew last year it was the fucking best). Get your friends and family together and bake some sweets. Light candles, I especially enjoy ‘crisp leaves’ or woodsy scented candles. Get a ton of squash and zucchini and cook it with onions and garlic, pile it up with some potatoes or rice. If you can’t have alcohol, get cider or apple juice. Have you guys had pomegranate juice? Do that. I’m not going to go over decor ideas because every mabon post basically has amazing ideas.
If you’re really poor, you can get some ramen and, if you can afford it, top it off with seasonal veggies. You can get a sack of potatoes most places for $2. Cook them(sliced) in olive oil with onion, garlic, and rosemary. If you can’t afford to go grocery shopping, you don’t need seasonal food. Look in your cabinets, make your favorite thing that you have on hand. This is the witches thanksgiving. Be with someone you care about, take a walk outside if you’re able.
I hope you all have fun celebrating.
