I have to end Candelabra day with a piece by the king of limbed-lighting; @adam_wallacavage . Adam is an absolute titan in the Art Scene and I’ve always been utterly enchanted by his work, but I’ll never forget the day the he and I sat in a corner at a party and he told me something that completely changed the way I see his pieces. He told me about how he paints in shadows and sculpts light. He told me about the stories he tells in the shadows with his pieces and I remember marveling at the exquisite intimacy of that. It’s a secret story only the artist and the owners of the piece get to share. It’s a secret story that only appears when the lights are out, and one that changes and alters when you walk around it.
